Those Who Serve: A Visit to Israel’s Lone Soldiers

Home » News » Those Who Serve: A Visit to Israel’s Lone Soldiers

Today we had the privilege of visiting Israel’s lone soldiers. These are young men and women serving in the army without close family in the country. Some have families abroad, and others have no one at all nearby. They’ve chosen to be here, to stand for Israel, and we wanted to bless them in whatever small ways we could.

We brought snacks, gave haircuts, offered massages, and did manicures and pedicures. These may seem like simple things, but for soldiers who rarely receive personal care or encouragement, it meant a lot. We had time to sit together, talk, laugh, and listen. We shared food and also handed out Hebrew Bibles containing the Old Testament.

What moved me most was the way their hearts were open. I had given my own Bible away the day before, and today, many of the soldiers had thoughtful questions about Israel and the Messiah. Who is He? Why does He matter? They were not debates, just honest and curious conversations. It was clear that something deeper was stirring.

We also took time to thank them for what they do. These young people are standing on the front lines for a country they believe in. That should never be taken for granted.

Among them were soldiers from Canada, South Africa, the United States, Thailand, and China. Each one came to Israel because they love this nation and believe in the cause. Some of them left everything behind. Some came alone. Some do not speak the language. But all of them came with courage and commitment.

It truly was a day of blessing. Quiet, personal, meaningful.

Please continue to pray for these soldiers. Pray for protection, strength, peace, and clarity. Many are searching, and I believe that God is near to them.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and heart.
