What It Takes to Feed the Streets of Tel Aviv

Every week, something beautiful happens in Tel Aviv. People who society has forgotten gather around tables for a hot meal. Some find a place at the soup kitchen. Others receive sandwiches handed to them with care on the streets where they live. This is what love in action looks like, and it happens through God’s faithfulness and provision.

The budget shared here isn’t just numbers on a page. These are the practical ways God uses His people to feed the hungry, just as Jesus commanded us to do.

Two Teams Serving Different Needs

The ministry operates through two teams.

Team 1 runs a soup kitchen. Chicken wings and vegetables go into a big pot of soup. Bread, cold meat, cheese, and spreads are laid out. Coffee and tea are ready. People come, sit down, and eat a hot meal.

Team 2 walks the streets with sandwiches. 70 bread rolls get stuffed with cold meat and cheese. Juice boxes and something sweet go into bags. These go to people on the streets who won’t come inside.

This happens every week. The total cost is 1,389 shekels.

Why This Transparency Matters

Stewardship is important. God’s resources should be handled with care and accountability. That’s why every shekel is accounted for, and nothing is hidden.

The beautiful thing is that anyone can be part of this work. You don’t need to fund everything. God might be calling you to cover the chicken wings for a week. Or the bread. Or the fuel. Or even just the sandwich bags at 20 shekels.

Whatever amount the Lord puts on your heart, it matters. It all gets used where it’s needed most to show Christ’s love to the hurting.

For brothers and sisters in Israel, there’s also the option to donate the actual items. Arrangements can be made for pickup.

The Heart Behind the Meals

This ministry exists because Jesus didn’t just preach to the hungry. He fed them. He sat with them. He saw them when others looked away.

The calling is to serve in the land of Israel is bringing help to the hurting and hope to the forgotten. This means serving with love: delivering food to the poor, encouraging soldiers, comforting the addicted and broken, and sharing the redeeming message of Jesus the Messiah.

God provides through His people. Every shekel that comes in is His provision through brothers and sisters in Christ who believe this work matters.

The people who come for food include Jews, Arabs, and other ethnic groups. The broken and the hurting. The ones who feel forgotten. But they’re not forgotten by God. They’re made in His image, precious to Him, and deserving of His love.

When someone receives a bowl of hot soup or a sandwich handed to them on the street, it’s more than food. It’s a tangible expression of God’s love. It says: You matter. God sees you. You are not forgotten.

Be Part of God’s Work

If the Holy Spirit is stirring your heart to support this work, know that you’re answering a calling. Financial support goes directly to feeding the hungry in Jesus’ name. Donating specific items is another way to serve. And never underestimate the power of prayer for this ministry and the precious souls it serves.

Every gift, whether large or small, helps this ministry continue showing up week after week with food, hope, and the life-changing message that Jesus loves them.
